Lacson turns over meat processing equipment

Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson led the turnover of meat processing equipment sets for the improvement of storage and marketing needs of beneficiary-organizations involve in hog raising and meat processing.

The beneficiaries are Menchaca Malanog Dolis Farmers Association of Calatrava, Friends of the Highlands Agrarian Reform Coop of Bago City, and the Multi-Sectoral Alliance for Development (MUAD) Negros, a press release from the Capitol.

Two sets of the equipment will also be stationed at the Negros Occidental Integrated Food Processing Facility.

The ceremonial turnover was held at the Capitol Grounds in Bacolod City Tuesday morning, July 27, in the presence of Negros Occidental Provincial Veterinarian, Dr. Renante Decena, Reynic Alo, Executive Director of MUA Negros, and Alliance of Hog Raisers Association of Negros Occidental (AHRANO) officers, among others.

Lacson said the improvement of product marketing will help increase the productivity and income of the local farmers and hog raisers.

He thanked all stakeholders for the support in the prevention of the entry of African Swin Fever (ASF) in the province, that has affected the swine industry of some provinces in the country.*
