Lacson to submit P5B 2022 budget this week

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said he is submitting the proposed P5 billion 2022 budget of the Negros Occidental provincial government to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan this week.

Lacson may submit the proposed budget to the SP as early as Wednesday, October 13, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said.

The deadline for its submission is Friday, October 15, but it will be submitted soon, Lacson said.

The Negros Occidental provincial government is expected to get more funds under the National Fund Allotment, previously known as the Internal Revenue Allotment.

Lacson attributed the hike to the Supreme Court’s Mandanas Ruling increasing the share of national government tax revenue transferred to local governments.

Among the priorities to be included in the budget will be health amid the provinces’ continuing response to the COVID-19 pandemic, agriculture and infrastructure, Lacson said earlier.*
