Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson and Mayor Gerry Rojas led the inauguration of P12.8 million in infrastructure projects in Murcia, Negros Occidental, Tuesday, Mach 22.
Inaugurated were the renovated P2.3 million Murcia Tinabu-ay Wet Market and P6 million public plaza, and P4.5 million multipurpose building, Rojas said.
The multipurpose building will house the satellite office of 3rd District Rep. Francisco Benitez, the tourism, persons with disabilities and senior citizens’ offices, municipal library, community museum and multi-purpose function hall, Rojas said.
Lacson said the newly-renovated public market and plaza are the face of Murcia that will boost its tourism and economic activities.
Rojas thanked Lacson for his continuous support to town’s projects to ensure its development.
Also present at the inauguration were board members Andrew Montelibano and Manuel Frederick Ko, Murcia Vice Mayor Johnny Reosura and other town officials.*
