
Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson and Mayor Ernesto Estrao led the inauguration of the new P60 million public market in Hinoba-an town on Wednesday, March 30.
The P60 million market was funded by the Municipal Development Fund Office and the Negros Occidental provincial government, a press release from the Capitol said.
A short program was held after the blessing of the market and ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Estrao thanked Lacson for the realization of the town’s project and for the continued support to their municipality.
He said that the market was primarily designed to be an agricultural bagsakan, to boost the local economy.
Lacson said that market administration is a challenge not only to the local officials but also to the vendors and residents of Hinoba-an.
He said that a clean and orderly market makes a good impression of the town, that will lead to more local development.
Also at the inauguration rites were Board Member Jeffrey Tubola, Hinoba-an Vice Mayor Jefre Encoy, the town’s Sangguniang Bayan members and Provincial Engineer Ernie Mapa.*
