
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson has issued an executive order extending the duration of the General Community Quarantine over Negros Occidental until September 30.
Lacson, in Executive Order 21-43 Series of 2021 released Wednesday, September 1, reiterated that entertainment and recreational venues, amusement parks, fairs, playgrounds, kiddie rides, traditional cockfighting and cockpits will remain closed during the duration of GCQ.
Curfew in Negros Occidental will remain from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., he added.
The governor said more stringent travel protocols for inbound travelers and mass gatherings at 30 percent will remain in place to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 Delta variant in the province.
Mandatory registration of all travelers to Negros Occidental to the Safe, Swift and Smart Passage (S-PaSS) Travel Management System, and all individuals and establishments to the StaySafe.ph Application as the official social distancing, health condition reporting and contact tracing application system of the province will also remain in force and effect, the governor said.
The active COVID-19 cases in Negros Occidental on Tuesday were 871, the Provincial Incident Management team reported.
Meanwhile, the Negros Occidental Provincial Health Office continues to rollout vaccines to curb the spread of COVID-19, Provincial Administrator Rayfrado Diaz said.
It delivered 5,455 vaccines to Manapla, EB Magalona, Silay City, San Carlos City, Toboso, Bago City, La Carlota City, Pontevedra and Hingaran Wednesday, he said.
The total vaccines utilized were 3,531 or 64.85 percent, he added.*
