Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said he is urging Negros Occidental farmers to strive to produce six tons of rice per hectare from the current average of 4 tons.

The governor turned over the P1.7 million Lulo Irrigation Project that will cover 34 hectares of rice lands and a P3.4 million solar powered water system for the Negros First Ranch in Sta. Rosa Murcia, on Wednesday, August 21.

The solar powered water system will provide sustainable water supply to meet the needs of more than 800 animals at the ranch, he said.*
