Lacson, Benitez in 2nd, 6th slots in performance surveys: RPMD

Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson was ranked second among the six governors in Western Visayas, and Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez was ranked sixth among the country’s city mayors, according to two performance surveys.

The RP Mission and Development Foundation Inc. (RPMD) said its independent, non-commissioned performance appraisal survey of the governors of Western Visayas showed Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor in the top slot with a score of 92.36 percent.

In second place were Jose Enrique Miraflores of Aklan and Lacson of Negros Occidental who achieved a statistical tie for the second spot, attaining scores of 87.25 percent and 86.81 percent, respectively, the RPMD said.

Rhodora Cadiao of Antique was ranked third with a score of 82.16 percent followed by Fredenil Castro of Capiz in fourth place with a rating of 77.40 percent, and JC Rahman Nava in fifth place with a rating of 73.69 percent, the RPMD said.

CITY MAYORS

In its survey of the country’s city mayors the focal points were service delivery, financial stewardship, economic progress, leadership and governance, environmental management, social services and public engagement, RPMD said.

Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez and Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas ranked sixth with scores of 83.77 percent and 82.94 percent, respectively.
