
A 29-year-old laborer lost his left hand after being hacked in Barangay Magallon Cadre, Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental, late Tuesday night, Jan. 6.
The suspect, identified as alias “Rico,” 43 years old, allegedly entered the victim’s residence and confronted him at around 11:30 p.m., the police said.
A heated argument then ensued and the suspect suddenly hacked the victim twice using a sugarcane cutter.
The police said the attack resulted in severe injuries, including the amputation of the victim’s left hand.
The police conducting a mobile patrol in the area found the victim bloodied and crying for help.
They arrested the suspect at the scene and recovered the sugarcane cutter used in the attack.
The victim was rushed to the Moises Padilla Infirmary and later referred to the Isabela District Hospital.
The suspects is detained at the Moises Padilla Municipal Police Station.*
