
A 53-year-old laborer was shot dead by an unidentified suspect during a drinking session in Sitio Abtao, Brgy. Tapi, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, Saturday evening, Sept. 6.
The police identified the victim as Jerry Emia of Brgy. Tapi.
Initial investigation showed that Emia was drinking with his son-in-law, Romilo Estrada, when an unidentified man approached and, without apparent reason, shot him on the head.
The suspect then fled northward.
Emia was rushed to the Kabankalan District Hospital in Brgy. Tabugon but was declared dead by the attending physician.
The police are looking at a personal grudge as a possible motive.*
