A laborer was shot dead by an unidentified person in a banana plantation in Sitio Cross, Brgy. Mansablay, Isabela, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday, March 27.
Killed was a 39-year-old laborer, whose name was withheld by the police, of Sitio Kantinakip, Brgy. Sikatuna, Isabela.
The police said while the victim was walking through a dark pathway in the a banana plantation he was suddenly shot by the unidentified person.
The victim was hit in the stomach.
He was brought to Ignacio L. Arroyo Memorial District Hospital but was declared dead, while the suspect fled in an unknown direction.
Recovered from the crime scene was one improvised shotgun.*
