A laborer was hacked to death by a farmer for allegedly stoning a dog in Hacienda Union, Brgy. Camugao, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday, February 28.
The 34-year-old laborer was hacked to death by a 50-year-old farmer after a heated argument, the police said Thursday.
The night before the hacking, the victim and the suspect had a heated argument. The suspect accused the victim of stoning his pet dog, the police said.
The next day, when the suspect took his carabao to the river, the victim, who was allegedly intoxicated hacked the suspect hitting his head and shoulder.
The suspect then drew his bolo and hacked the victim’s left hand and stabbed him on the chest, the police reported.
The victim was brought to Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital in Kabankalan but was declared dead on arrival.
The suspect was also brought to the hospital to undergo medical treatment and is now in police custody.*
