About 2,000 Bacolodnons availed of the Lab for All medical mission of First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos at the University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos gymnasium on Thursday, June 27, Bacolod Councilor Cindy Rojas said.
The First Lady met with the medical mission participants at UNO-R Thursday morning, and turned over a Lab for All van to Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez to be used for health care services in Bacolod City.
There were 1,500 pre-registered beneficiaries on Thursday and about 500 walk-ins who availed of the free medical services, Rojas said.
The Lab for All medical mission also served 400 patients at the Bacolod City College on Monday, 300 in Barangay Vista Alegre on Tuesday and more in Banago on Wednesday, she said.
The Lab for All patients also received food assistance from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office and the Department of Social Welfare and Development, she said.
Multiple national government agencies provided assistance during the Lab for All mission.
Benitez thanked the First Lady for bringing the Lab for All medical mission to Bacolod.
“This initiative brings essential health care services directly to our people,” he said.
“We are inspired by your commitment to inclusive and compassionate health care, and we are dedicated to following your lead in serving our people,” Benitez told the First Lady.
Benitez also thanked her for making Bacolod the first Lab for All destination in the Visayas.*
