The victim was working in the rice field when two suspects shot him several times and fled, the police said.
The victim was brought to Governor Valeriano M. Gatuslao Memorial Hospital but was declared dead on arrival, it said.
The wife of the victim turned over to the investigators a 5.56 millimiter fired cartridge case that she recovered from the crime scene.
In Bacolod City, Christian Bartolata Escalona, 23, was shot and killed at Purok Tahong, Barangay 2, Bacolod, 12:50 a.m. Friday.
The police said he was a drug personality in the area.*
