Jeepney groups are holding a protest rally against corruption in government and to call for justice for their members in front of the Bacolod City Government Center replica at the Bacolod City Public Plaza starting 8 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 18.
Bayan Negros Secretary-General Noly Rosales said about 300 to 400 jeepney drivers, operators, and members of progressive groups are expected to join their “Busina sa Korapsyon” protest.
The rally seeks justice for their leaders who were water cannoned during a demonstration in front of a hotel along Lacson Street last year, he said.
Rosales said the action also aims to call out alleged corruption in government, which continues to burden the transport sector.*
