
A jeepney barker was injured after being shot by another barker during a commotion along Lizares Street, Brgy. 40, Bacolod City in the early hours of Thursday, Jan. 22.
The police identified the injured victim as alias “Rolando,” 38, while the suspect was identified as alias “Roger,” who remains at large.
Bacolod Police Station 6 commander Capt. Peter John Ramos said the shooting stemmed from a dispute between the two men over passengers boarding jeepneys at the Libertad Public Market.
Police said the argument escalated into a commotion, during which the suspect allegedly drew a firearm of still unknown caliber and shot the victim.
The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the hip and was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, where he underwent surgery.
The police said they are preparing to file a frustrated homicide case against the suspect, who remains the subject of a manhunt.*
