Japan groups to visit Bacolod in October

Bacolod City Consultant for Trade, Tourism and Investment John Orola Jr. said Monday, September 27, that he has invited the Organization for the Development and Advancement of Negros in Japan (ODAN-J) and Japan-Negros Friendship Association (JNFA) to Bacolod City in October.

This invitation for the group from Japan is to conduct a business opportunity survey and research in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental on October 18 – 31, Orola said in a press release.

Orola had recommended the upcoming visit of the groups from Japan to Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia and they are set to meet with the mayor during the conduct of their business opportunity and survey in the city.

“With my invitation to JNFA and ODAN-J, we could explore areas of opportunities between Japan and Bacolod City and Negros Occidental that can help stimulate the economic recovery and growth of both the city and the province especially during this time of a pandemic,” he said.

Representatives from JNFA and ODAN-J will be provided with the necessary documents as a requirement of the Philippine government prior to their flight to Bacolod City due to the COVID-19 travel restrictions, Orola added.

The members from the group expected to come from Japan are composed of Eleanor Fukuda – Japan-Negros Friendship Association/ODAN-J director, Daisuke Mori – Japan-Negros Friendship Association director, Ayako Mori – SJ LLC representative, and Judie Alvaran – Organization for the Development and Advancement of Negros in Japan chairman.*
