Mayor Rex R. Jalando-on on Sunday announced the resumption of face-to-face classes and the conduct of academic and extracurricular activities at all levels in La Carlota City schools effective Monday, April 14.
However, this does not include schools located within Mt. Kanlaon’s 6- kilometer Permanent Danger Zone, he said.
The mayor had earlier suspended classes in La Carlota following the explosive eruption of Mt. Kanlaon on April 8.
“All schools are directed to resume operations while ensuring that health and safety protocols are in place and strictly observed”, the mayor said.
The city government remains committed to prioritizing the safety and well-being of all learners, educators, and school personnel as we transition back to in-person learning, he added.
For further information stakeholders should coordinate with the Schools Division Office of La Carlota or their respective school heads, Jalando-on said.*
