The Office of the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Himamaylan, headed by Vice Mayor Justin Gatuslao, today congratulated Julie Anne V. Antolo, SP Secretary, for passing the 2025 Philippine Bar Examinations.
“This achievement marks a historic moment for the City Council, as Antolo becomes the first incumbent Secretary of the Himamaylan SP to successfully hurdle the esteemed Bar Exams while in active service,” a statement issued by the Himamaylan SP said.
Antolo obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science-Psychology at the University of the Philippines Visayas and her Juris Doctor at the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos.
Antolo has been the cornerstone of the Sanggunian’s legislative operations since her appointment as legislative officer in 2019 and her unanimous elevation to SP Secretary in 2023, the statement said.
Her profound understanding of parliamentary procedures, local legislation, and the intricacies of governance has been instrumental in the efficient and effective functioning of the Council. Throughout her tenure, she has demonstrated an unparalleled commitment to public service, integrity, and professionalism, the SP statement added.
“Atty. Antolo’s success is not just a personal triumph, it is a victory for the entire City Government of Himamaylan,” Vice Mayor Gatuslao said.
“To master the demanding role of SP Secretary while simultaneously conquering one of the most difficult professional licensure exams in the country is nothing short of phenomenal. We have witnessed firsthand her brilliance and work ethic, and we are honored to now call her Attorney Antolo,” he said.
Gatuslao added that Antolo’s accomplishment brings a unique and invaluable asset to the city.
“Her deepened expertise in law will undoubtedly enhance the legislative and legal advisory functions of the Sanggunian, contributing to more robust and well-crafted local laws for the people of Himamaylan,” he said.*
