Bais City’s “Hudyaka sa Bais” was declared the champion at the Buglasan Festival of Festivals competition held at the Governor Mariano Perdices Coliseum in Dumaguete City, Friday night, Oct. 25.
The city’s “Hudyaka sa Bais” won over 12 competing towns and cities in Negros Oriental and also took home four special awards, including best in streetdancing, choreography, choreographer, and identification arch.
The “YagYag Festival” of Sibulan was 1st runner-up, “Pasayaw Festival” of Canlaon City – 2nd runner-up, “Dalit Tayasanon” of Tayasan – 3rd runner-up, and “Tawo-Tawo Festival” of Bayawan City – 4th runner-up.
Tayasan took home the best in musicality award, while Bayawan was hailed best in costume.
Valencia’s representative Misty Allen was crowned Miss Negros Oriental 2024 at the Lamberto Macias Sports Complex on Saturday, Oct. 26.
Sibulan’s Michelle Grace McNeely was 1st runner-up, followed by Tanjay City’s Lj Moredo, Santa Catalina’s Meah Patricia Balauro, and Guihulngan City’s Ricah Alcorin as 2nd, 3rd, and 4th runners-up, respectively.
The Buglasan Festival is the provincial festival of Negros Oriental, which was held on Oct. 18 to 27.*
