Senator Risa Hontiveros, chairperson of the Senate Committee on Electoral Reforms and People’s Participation, will lead a public consultation on the anti-political dynasty bill at the Carlos Hilado Memorial State University, Alijis Campus in Bacolod City, on Friday morning, Feb. 13.
Participants will include students, civil society organizations, youth leaders, advocates for good governance, leaders of religious groups, and invited resource persons.
The discussion will focus on the impact of political dynasties on democratic participation, local governance, and development, an announcement from the Office of Senator Risa Hontiveros – Bacolod said.
The consultation aims to solicit public input on the proposed Anti-Political Dynasty Bill, enhance public awareness, and promote citizen participation in the legislative process toward equal political opportunity and accountable leadership, it said.*
