Himamaylan City’s medical services have been reinforced with the arrival of two new patient transport vehicles (PTVs) this month.

A P5 million PTV that arrived earlier this month was acquired with the city’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund, a press release from Himamaylan City said.

“This is part of the city government’s DRRM plan to augment our services and strengthen preparation in times of emergencies,” Mayor Raymund Tongson said.

On September 19 Himamaylan was also among the 51 local government units in Western Visayas that  received PTVs under the Medical Transport Vehicle Donation Program of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.

“Himamaylan City is grateful to the PCSO and President Bongbong Marcos for this new vehicle. It will definitely aid more Himamaylanon patients,” Tongson said.

“With these new PTVs, our response operations have become more efficient and effective,” he said.*
