
A high-value drug suspect was arrested in a buy-bust operation that led to the seizure of an estimated P680,000 worth of suspected shabu in Purok Cheriza 2, Brgy. 27, Bacolod City, on Tuesday, Dec. 9.
Police Station 4 operatives conducted the operation at about 12:26 a.m., resulting in the arrest of alias “Ram,” 51, unemployed, and a resident of the area.
Police said they received information from a confidential informant about the suspect’s alleged illegal drug activities.
Surveillance was immediately launched, and a transaction was set up with the cooperation of the informant.
The sale was consummated before the suspect was arrested.
Recovered from the suspect were one sachet of suspected shabu sold to the poseur buyer, 14 sachets believed to contain shabu, a P500 bill used as buy-bust money, a coin purse, and P1,000 in alleged proceeds.
The suspect was informed of his rights, and the inventory was documented through a body-worn camera and an alternative recording device.
The drug evidence was turned over to the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Forensic Unit for examination.
Alias “Ram” is detained at Police Station 4 and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
