High-value drug target, partner arrested in Victorias, P748K in shabu seized

The police arrested a regional-level high-value drug target and his live-in partner in a buy bust operation at Ditching Subdivision, Barangay 5, Victorias City in Negros Occidental on Tuesday, Feb. 10.

Seized from them were 110 grams of suspected shabu, valued at about P748,000, the Police Regional Office Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) reported.

The primary suspect, identified only as alias “Popi”, is a 43-year-old male resident of Villa Cristina, Brgy. 21, Victorias City. and ranked as the No. 19 Regional-Level High-Value Individual, the PRO NIR said,

Also apprehended during the sting was his live-in partner, alias “Mar,” a 39-year-old street-level individual (SLI) and a resident of Ditching Subdivision.

Investigators said that the pair had been working in connivance to facilitate illegal drug activities within the area.

The arrest of “Popi” marks the end of a persistent pursuit by law enforcement, as the suspect had previously evaded several buy-bust operations in 2024 and 2025 through extreme vigilance and evasive tactics.

They are currently being held at the Victorias CCPS for proper disposition. All recovered evidence has been submitted to the Negros Occidental.*
