Half-day work Neg. Occ., Bacolod gov’t offices Monday

Work in government offices in Bacolod City will be suspended starting 1 p.m. Monday in celebration of the “Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day (Family Day is Important)”, Bacolod Mayor Greg Gasataya said on Sunday, Sept. 21.

But departments and offices responsible for the delivery of basic and health services, disaster preparedness and response, and other vital services shall continue operations, he added.

Gasataya said the suspension of work was incompliance with Memorandum Circular No. 96 issued by the Office of the President.

Work at the Negros Occidental provincial government offices will only be up to 12 a.m., Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson also said.

Malacañang has shortened the work hours in state offices and departments on Monday to allow government employees to participate in the annual observance of the 33rd Family Week and the “Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga” Day.*
