An hacienda overseer was arrested after the police seized a submachine gun from him in Brgy. 12, Victorias City, Negros Occidental, on Tuesday, Nov. 28.
The 48-year-old overseer, whose name was withheld by the police, was arrested by virtue of a search warrant issued by Judge Leonardo Facultad Jr., executive judge of the Regional Trial Court in Silay City.
The operation was led by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Bacolod together with Victorias City Police.
The police recovered an intratec Miami Luger MOD: TEC-KG9 9mm submachine gun, a magazine assembly, twenty rounds of live ammunition, and a magazine assembly for a .45 caliber pistol.
The suspect and confiscated evidence were brought to the CIDG-Bacolod office.*
