The post qualification evaluation of the lone bidder for the bulk water project of Negros Occidental is ongoing, Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said on Tuesday, Jan. 7.

A consortium of First Balfour Inc., Victorias Milling Co. and FPIP Utilities Inc. is the lone bidder of Negros Occidental’s P1.2 billion bulk water project.

Lacson said after the assessment and if qualified, negotiations will follow regarding the pricing of the water they will produce.

The governor said it could be implemented in the first quarter of this year.

The bulk water project includes the financing, engineering design, construction, operation and maintenance of the bulk water supply system that will be sourced from either the Imbang River or the Malogo River.

It is expected to supply treated bulk water to service providers in Silay, Talisay, Victorias, Bacolod, Manapla and EB Magalona.*
