Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson has designated Provincial Tourism Officer Cheryl F. Decena festival director of the Panaad sa Negros Festival set April 17 to 23.
Lacson in Executive Order No. 23-04-A Series of 2023 dated Monday, February 13, also designated Engineer Jose Maria Amugod, who was initially named festival director, as logistics head.
Lacson said there was a need to amend his January 23 EO creating the organizing committee to ensure the smooth and successful implementation of the annual event dubbed as the “Festival of all Festivals” of Negros Occidental.
“There is a need to amend the different committees that will facilitate the overall planning, implementation, coordination, supervision of various programs and events of the festival,” he said.
The secretariat will be manned by the Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology Center and Negros Occidental Scholarship Program; reception and tours –
Negros Occidental Tourism Division;
Usherettes for special events – Provincial Human Resource Management Office and Sangguniang Panlalawigan; trade fair and exhibit – Technology and Livelihood Development Center, Office of the Provincial Agriculturist and Provincial Veterinary Office;
Finance and procurement – Provincial Budget Office, Provincial Treasurer’s Office and Provincial Accounting Office; Inspection team – Provincial Administrator’s Office and Provincial General Services Office; physical arrangement/electrical and ground maintenance -Panaad Park Administration, Provincial General Services Office and Provincial Engineer’s Office;
Publicity, marketing, documentation and sponsorship – Public Information Office; legal services – Provincial Legal Office; clinic/medical services, emergency preparedness – Provincial Health Office, Hospital Operations Department, and Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council;
Security, law enforcement response, traffic and crowd management – Safety and Security Division, Police Provincial Office, Negros Rescue Federation, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Army, Bacolod City Police Office and Police Station 7; and tabulation – Provincial Accounting Office and Information and Communication Technology Department.*
