Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson distributed checks worth P441,600 to 205 famers of San Carlos City, Thursday, June 24, who are beneficiaries of the Quick Turn Around (QTA) or Early Planting Incentives Project under the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA).

The distribution was held at Brgy. Quezon Covered Court, attended by First District Board Member Rommel Debulgado, San Carlos City Mayor Renato Gustilo and city officials, farmer-beneficiaries, and OPA staff, a press release from the Capitol said.

The QTA is a program of the provincial government that provides cash incentives to farmers engaged in early planting from April to May last year, as support to rice requirements during the off-season, thereby minimizing the impact of food shortage, especially during the height of the pandemic, it said.

The provincial government have also previously distributed various agricultural equipment and supplies to the farmers of the city to support agricultural productivity.

Lacson thanked the farmers for their hard work that ensures food security in the province.

He also urged them to get vaccinated in order to protect themselves and their families against COVID-19.*
