Guv: Capitol meets deadline  for distribution of P50M aid

The PAFFF distribution in the 5th District of Negros Occidental.*

Less than 200 recipients of the Presidential Assistance for Farmers, Fisherfolk, and Families (PAFFF) in Negros Occidental were beating the deadline to avail of their shares at the Capitol in Bacolod City on Thursday, July 25.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. turned over the P50 million aid for 5,000 Negros Occidental PAFFF recipients to Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson during his visit to Bacolod City on June 27.

The president instructed the governor to distribute P10,000 to each of the recipients who were victims of the El Niño dry spell in 30 days.

Lacson said they have met the deadline as the bulk of the P50 million has been distributed to the recipients in the six districts of Negros Occidental.

However, there are a few who did not show up when the aid was being   distributed in the districts, he said.

They will have to avail of their P10,000 each at the Capitol in Bacolod City before the one-month deadline ends otherwise the funds might have to be returned to the national government, he said.

The deadline is on Friday, July 26.*
