Guihulngan farmers get help

Personnel from the Community Support Program Team of the 32nd Civil Military Operations Company under the operational control of 303rd Infantry Brigade provided security assistance to Guihulngan Cityl farmers during the Department of Agrarian Reform’s check distribution at the Old Market in Brgy. Poblacion, Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental, on May 26.

A total of 198 farmers received P1.1 million as cash-aid subsidy from the office of the Department of Agriculture, a press release from the Army said.

It was attended by Guihulngan City Vice Mayor Ernesto Reyes, Sangguniang Panglungsod member Melbourne Bustamante, City Veterinary Doctor Niño Perez, Philippine Crop Insurace Corp. headed by Rene Ardiña, City Agricuturist Roberto Bustamante, Joel Cadiz, representative from Department of Agriculture and PNP SAF Police Lt. Lorenzo C Kimmayong Jr.

Col. Inocencio Pasaporte, 303rd Infantry Brigade Commander, said the check subsidy distribution will help alleviate the conditions of the local farmers in the area.*
