Bacolod City Mayor Greg Gasataya met with hospital administrators and health officials to strengthen the Bacolod Comprehensive Health Program (BacCHP) at Seda Hotel on Thursday, July 17.
He pledged faster funding, improved coordination, and expanded access to critical medical services for residents, a press release from the Bacolod City Communications Office (BCCO) said.
Gasataya reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting partner hospitals in delivering “stronger, more efficient healthcare” to Bacolodnons, it said.
“We also assure to expedite payments, prioritize fund essentials to the improvement of BacCHP and better healthcare service,” Gasataya stressed.
Bacolod Queen of Mercy Hospital Medical Director Dr. John Alejano praised the initiative, thanking Gasataya and BacCHP focal person Marty Go, Secretary to the Mayor, for their proactive steps toward a more responsive healthcare system.
Go underscored the need for tighter collaboration with private hospitals to address operational challenges and implement policy revisions.
The meeting included City Health Officer Dr. Carmela Gensoli, Environment Sanitation Division Chief Dr. Grace Tan, and representatives from major healthcare institutions, including Riverside Medical Center, The Doctors’ Hospital, Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, Bacolod Adventist Medical Center, and the Department of Social Services and Development.
The meeting marks Bacolod’s latest push to transform its healthcare landscape, aligning with Gasataya’s commitment to prioritize equitable access and institutional partnerships, the BCCO said.*
