Mayor Greg Gasataya on Monday, Feb. 2, pledged to continue to address the flooding problem in Bacolod City.
“Let’s bite the bullet because this is our problem,” Gasataya said at the Monday morning, Feb. 2, flag ceremony at the Bacolod City Government Center.
“It is my obligation and responsibility as your leader to find ways (to address the problem),” he said, following the floods that hit Bacolod City on Saturday that caused more than 1,000 residents to evacuate.
“It is a huge problem and we don’t want it to worsen”, he said.
“With each and every one of us doing our respective share”, he said, it will help address the problem.
The mayor said most of the rivers overflowed due to heavy rain, not only in Bacolod but in other areas like Sagay City and Toboso.*
