Greg pledges full support for SP, committee chairpersons named

Bacolod Mayor Greg Gasataya stressed the need for unified governance and pledged his full support to the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) at its inaugural session on Wednesday, July 2.

The mayor also introduced the members of his staff, while the SP designated its committee chairpersons.

The mayor, in his speech said “My commitment to each and every one of you is clear. We are offering true partnership to the legislative branch. That is why I am directing all departments, executive assistants and the entire executive branch to provide full support to the City Council in terms of their legislation”.

Gasataya said he told his staff there will be “No ifs and buts. Let’s help them, so that they can come up with the best legislation for the people of Bacolod City”.

The mayor also said his decisions may not always be popular but they will be for the good of the people of Bacolod.

He informed the SP members that Mark Mayo will be the city administrator, Marty Go – secretary to the mayor and Karol Joseph Chiu – city legal officer.

Gasataya said his supervising administrative officer will be Arlene S. Memoria, while his executive assistants are Jovelyn C. Dato-on, Ayesha Joy Y. Villaflor, lawyer Rhett Demonteverde, April Rose Mayo, Patrick S. Lacson, Angelo Angolo, Richard Chiu, Jan Paolo Aguila, Leo Bentinganan, Peping Villanueva, retired Col. Levy Pangue, Aaron Bais, lawyer Carlos Auxtero II, Ricky Malala, Princess Ela Olmilla and Jonathan Diaz.

The 12th Sangguniang Panlungsod, at its first session led by Vice Mayor Claudio Jesus Raymundo Puentevella, designated the following committee chairpersons:
