The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) has expanded its coverage of dialysis sessions from 90 to 144 sessions for outpatients, while the Department of Health (DOH) is set to turnover ambulances to seven Bacolod barangays, Bacolod Rep. Greg Gasataya said Sunday, July 4.

Gasataya said he was informed by the DOH that seven ambulances will be turned over to barangays Punta Taytay, Tangub, Cabug, Felisa, Handumanan, Mansilingan, and Banago this week.

He had requested for the ambulances in Congress in 2019, Gasataya said.

Meanwhile, PhilHealth announced the expansion of its coverage of dialysis sessions in Circular No. 2021-0009 published Friday, July 2, he said.

Gasataya, vice chairman of the House Committee on Appropriations, said he raised the call of dialysis patients for more free sessions at a pre-budget briefing of the DOH last year.

He said he is thankful to the DOH and PhilHealth for hearing the call of the people.

PhilHealth said the 91st to 144th additional dialysis sessions will be exclusively used for outpatient dialysis. Any unused sessions will not be carried over to CY 2022.*
