Bacolod Rep. Greg Gasataya said House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco has committed to provide more funds for the construction of the Bacolod District Hospital.
Gasataya said he presented the conceptual design of the hospital to Velasco during his visit to Negros Occidental on Friday, September 3.
It is a big blessing that Velasco has committed to help, he said.
Velasco and several other members of Congress were in Negros Occidental for the baptism of the twins of former Rep. Mercedes Alvarez and her husband, Dranreb Lansang.
Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri earlier also said he has allocated an additional P200 million for the Bacolod City General Hospital.
The P200 million will be on top of the P600 million stipulated in the law on the hospital’s creation, he said.
The law was created based on bills authored by Zubiri in the Senate and Gasataya in the House of Representatives.*
