Grandma hacked dead by minor who hit her dog

A 78-year-old grandmother was hacked to death at Sitio Pisong, Brgy. Buluangan, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 8.

The victim was identified by Angelina Asugan Escorial, while the name of her assailant was withheld for being a minor, the police said Thursday.

Police investigation showed that the victim reprimanded the 17-year-old suspect after he struck her dog with a bamboo pole.

The suspect got angry which led to his hacking the victim multiple times using a sharp-bladed weapon. The victim sustained hack wounds on different parts of her body and one on her head which caused her death, the police said.

The suspect voluntarily surrendered at the Buluangan Barangay Hall and was turned over by the police to the Department of Social Welfare and Development.*
