A grade 6 pupil died after being struck by lightning while playing near a tree at the back of her house in Brgy. Tinampa-an, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 6.
The victim was an 11-year-old boy and a resident of Don Salvador 2 Subdivision in in Brgy. Tinampa-an, the police said.
The boy was playing under a santol tree when lightning struck, hitting him directly.
He was rushed by relatives to the Cadiz City Emergency Clinic but was declared dead by the attending physician.*
