The Dr. Ramon B. Gustilo Hospital Medical Specialty Services building in Manapla, Negros Occidental, was inaugurated on Wednesday, September 28.
Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson and Manapla Mayor Manuel Escalante III, who joined the inauguration, thanked Gustilo for his dedication towards helping indigent patients and for giving back to his hometown.
Gustilo, president and medical director of the hospital, is a world renowned orthopedic surgeon, scientist and inventor who made a name for himself while working in the United States.
“Thank you for giving back so generously to your hometown,” Lacson told Gustilo in his speech during the inauguration rites.
“We are thankful for the Dr. Ramon B. Gustilo Hospital, as an ambulatory surgery center, joint replacement and orthopedic trauma management center, and now, the additional medical specialty services building,” Lacson said.
Lacson also thanked all the doctors, nurses and healthcare providers at the hospital for their tireless dedication to serve the people of Negros Occidental. “There is no calling more noble than saving lives, “he said.
The Medical Specialty Services building provides CT Scan, MRI and renal dialysis services, and has a rehabilitation unit and 60-bed ward for low income patients, Gustilo said.
”We are fortunate and grateful to have competent and well-trained doctors of various specialties practicing at Dr. Ramon B. Gustilo Hospital. I am optimistic of delivering affordable and quality medical services to all patients,” he said.
Dr. Ramon Aguirre, vice president for medical affairs, said their main hospital also has 37 private and semi-private rooms.*
