Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson led the inauguration of the Alliance of Hog Raisers Association of Negros Occidental (AHRANO) porkshop at the Fiesta Market of the Ayala Malls Capitol Central in Bacolod City, Wednesday morning, October 27.

Lacson said the provincial government has also set up several other meat shops to help hog raisers in various parts of the province market their goods.

The integrity of AHRANO officers and cooperation among its members will create a sustainable livelihood project, and will bring about economic benefits not only to their association but also to the entire hog industry of the province, Lacson said.

The meat shop at the Fiesta Market was facilitated by the Provincial Veterinary Office and AHRANO, with assistance from Magnolia-Purefoods.

The association will manage the project and sell high quality meat products to generate more income for its members, AHRANO president Ric Lauron said.

Also present at the inauguration were board members Andrew Montelibano and Jeffrey Tubola, Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Renante Decena and Dr. John Danico of Magnolia Purefoods.

Lacson also led the turnover of 30 plucking machines to local government units with slaughterhouses, and 30 egg incubators to LGUs, people’s organizations, and assisted multiplier farms, in a ceremonial turn over held at the Capitol Wednesday morning.*
