Globe Strengthens On-Ground Response as Bacolod Broadband Restoration Continues

 

Globe is speeding up efforts to restore broadband services in Bacolod after Typhoon Tino damaged fiber lines and electrical posts across the city. Staying true to its Alagang Globe commitment, the company is prioritizing customers’ needs as teams work round the clock to bring connectivity back to homes.

 

While the main network systems are operational, much of the impact remains in the lines that connect directly to homes, which took the heaviest hit during the storm. Globe teams continue to work across affected barangays with the support of LGUs and power partners to safely access and repair damaged routes.

 

“We’re moving quickly to bring services back,” said Adonis Evangelista, Head of VisMin Broadband Field Operations at Globe. “Bacolod’s recovery is part of our broader effort to strengthen connectivity nationwide, ensuring customers stay connected when it matters most.”

 

As restoration continues, Globe will be restoring connectivity in the following barangays based on the restoration schedule already set by its field teams. Technicians are working area by area to reconnect homes that remain affected by the outage, ensuring that no household is left behind.

Globe targets to normalize broadband services in Bacolod by December 15, with continuous restoration work across all affected barangays until completion.

 

To help families stay connected, Globe field teams are working closely with LGUs to fast-track clearing activities, especially in locations where fallen poles and debris continue to obstruct fiber routes.  On top of this, Globe has:

 

●      Deployed additional Home Prepaid WiFi units and loaner modems in affected areas, which has the 30GB valid for 30days, FREE.

●      Waived current billing charges for affected broadband accounts, though any previous unpaid balances prior to the typhoon remain due.

●      Provided free 30GB of mobile data valid for 30 days as added relief to qualified customers so they can stay connected while waiting for broadband restoration.

 

Globe will continue to issue regular updates as restoration progresses. The company remains committed to getting Bacolod fully reconnected and supporting the community throughout its recovery. Customers are encouraged to ensure their mobile numbers are updated and to download the GlobeOne app to receive notifications and service advisories through the app and through SMS.
