Genesis startup competition set to empower young entrepreneurs

The Genesis Startup Event, a groundbreaking business plan competition aimed at fostering entrepreneurship and innovation among college students, will be held in Manapla, Negros Occidental, on March 26.

The competition is a project of R&G Gustilo Foundation, in collaboration with North Negros College, Northland Resort Hotel, and the Dr. Ramon B. Gustilo Hospital.

The event will be hosted at the Northland Resort in Manapla 2 p.m. on March 26.

“The Genesis Startup Event will challenge participating students from North Negros College to present their visionary business ideas to a panel of seasoned business professionals. These industry experts will offer insightful feedback and select the most promising pitches,” a press release from R&G Gustilo Foundation said.

The top three pitches will be awarded financial prizes designed to jumpstart their entrepreneurial ventures – ₱50,000 for first place, ₱20,000 for second place and ₱10,000 for third place.

As an expanded initiative of the R&G Gustilo Foundation, this event reflects the foundation’s commitment to cultivating a culture of innovation and leadership within the local community, Chris Gustilo, chairman of Northland Resort Hotel, said.

“The Genesis Startup Event is more than just a competition — it’s a platform for young minds to turn their dreams into reality,” he said.

“We are excited to witness the ideas of our students that will shape the future”, Gustilo said.
