Mayor Greg Gasataya has tasked a technical working group (TWG) to review and assess a proposed amendment to the ongoing Yuhum 4PH Housing Project in Barangay Vista Alegre, which was initiated through a joint venture agreement.
The project proponent, William Russel Scheirman Holdings Inc. in a letter addressed to the mayor dated April 8, proposed reducing the project deliverables from the original 25 buildings in three sites to eight buildings, citing challenges brought about by energy crisis.
Gasataya created the TWG through Executive Order No. 21, a press release from the Bacolod City Communications Office said on Tuesday, April 21.
“We need to consider a lot of factors. The TWG has started the evaluation in order to make the necessary endorsement to the Sangguniang Panlungsod, since this is a joint venture agreement,” the mayor said.
The TWG is chaired by Bacolod Housing Authority head Ma. Victoria Parrenas.
It is tasked to validate and assess legal, technical, engineering, architectural, financial, and implementation-related aspects of the proposed amendment.
The group will also review all relevant documents to properly guide the city in processing the proposal, including those that may be referred to the Sangguniang Panlungsod and other concerned offices.
“The ball will be in their hands. The authority to amend will emanate from them. What we can provide is the necessary support,” the mayor added.
Members of the TWG include representatives from the City Legal Office, Office of the Building Official, City Engineer’s Office, and the Bacolod Housing Authority, which will also serve as the secretariat and provide administrative and documentation support.
The Office of the City Mayor expects to receive a consolidated report from the TWG within 15 days, containing findings, recommendations, and supporting documents necessary for the city’s action on the proposed amendment.*
