Four inbound travelers to Negros RAT reactive

Three inbound travelers to Negros Occidental were rapid antigen test (RAT) reactive on Friday, February 4, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said.

They were among the 137 passengers who arrived on board five flights at the Bacolod-Silay Airport and on one boat who were tested.

On Thursday, one out of 139 inbound passengers tested was also reactive, he said.

Those who are reactive can opt to stay in a provincial government quarantine facility or go on home quarantine, he said.

The provincial government is conducting free antigen tests at ports of entry as a deterrent against the spread of COVID-19.

Negros Occidental had 61 new COVID-19 cases for a total of 3,321 active cases on Friday, the Provincial Incident Management Team reported.

The province also had four new COVID-19 cases and 113 recoveries, it added.

Bacolod City had 78 new COVID-19 cases for a total of 2,096 active cases, and one death the Department of Health also reported on Friday.

Bacolod City requires its inbound travelers to submit RAT test results prior to arrival.*
