Former rebels underwent a 15-day technical-vocational course in Brgy. Poblacion, Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental, last week.
The project was conducted by the Guihulngan City Task Force to End Local Communists Armed Conflict (GCTF-ELCAC) in collaboration with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and 62nd Infantry “Unifier” Battalion, a press release from the 62IB said.
The former rebels underwent a 15-day tech-voc course on hilot (wellness massage) with national certificate II and graduated on July 6, it said.
The course was participated in by 20 individuals, including the 10 former rebels and 10 participants from ELCAC barangays of Guihulngan City, previously cleared of Communist rebels, the 62IB said.
All participants were trained and each of them were given P160 a day, it added.
This program will help the former rebels have an additional source of livelihood, the 62IB said.*
