Liane Garcia, the former head of the Negros Occidental Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, passed away on Saturday, July 6.
Garcia, 60, succumbed to lung cancer.
“Her life was a beacon of selflessness, advocacy, and transformative impact. Her legacy in the field of social work will forever echo the boundless power of compassion and the enduring difference one person can make in the world,” a Negros Occidental Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office statement said.
Her wake will be at the St. Peter Chapels in Barangay Alijis, Bacolod City, starting Tuesday evening until Thursday.
An evening service and vigil will be held at the Bible Believers Church at Menlo Village Phase 3 in Talisay City on Friday.
She will be buried at Heaven’s Gate Memorial Gardens in Talisay City at 9 a.m. Saturday after an 8 a.m. service at the Bible Believers Church.*
