A fisherman drowned near the shoreline of Purok 2, Brgy. Elihan, Cauayan, Negros Occidental, on Sunday, April 27.
Namer Cabal, 43, or Purok 2 was found floating near the shore by visitors of a resort, the police said.
Police investigation revealed that the victim was drinking liquor at a birthday party near the area where his body was found.
He left at about 1 p.m. to buy more liquor but did not return and was found near the shore at a nearby resort at 3:40 p.m., the police added.*
