A fire broke out after stored firecrackers exploded inside a residential property in Purok Tuway, Brgy. Canmoros, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday night, Dec. 3.
Police said the incident occurred at around 7:30 p.m. inside the home of a 72-year-old businessman.
Investigators reported that firecrackers stored in the victim’s stock room suddenly ignited and triggered the fire.
Residents in the area alerted authorities at around 7:35 p.m., prompting the Binalbagan police to respond and assist the Binalbagan Fire Station.
Firefighters quickly managed to contain the flames, declaring the fire out after a few minutes.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
Estimated damage reached P300,000, affecting portions of the victim’s home.*
