The fire that razed an upholstery warehouse at Villa Lucasan Subdivision in Barangay Mandalagan, Bacolod City, caused an estimated P5 million in damages on Wednesday, January 12.
No one was hurt as the workers were able to immediately escape from the warehouse as thick black smoke billowed, Chief Inspector Rodel Legaspi, city fire marshal, said.
While the warehouse contained flammable materials such as textiles and plastics, the blaze did not spread to neighboring houses because it had a firewall, he added.
The fire destroyed the warehouse, a neighboring shop, a sedan, and a canter truck.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.*
