Three houses were destroyed and three others were damaged in a fire that hit Purok Planeta, Brgy. Taculing, Bacolod City, Thursday afternoon, August 15.

Bacolod Fire Marshal FSupt. Jenny Mae Masip said they suspect a faulty electrical wire may have caused the incident but they are still conducting further investigation.

They will submit the recovered evidence to the arson laboratory at the Bureau of Fire Protection national headquarters for examination, she said.

The fire-hit area is one of the identified red zones in Bacolod where houses made of light materials were built close together.

The narrow road made it difficult for firefighters to put out the blaze that was reported at 1:19 p.m. and was declared out at 1:32 p.m., the Bacolod Fire Station (BFP) reported.

The fire that has affected six families caused damage estimated at P24,500, the BFP added.*
