The Sangguniang Panlalawigan is expected to approve the P6,457,539,794 proposed 2025 Annual Budget of Negros Occidental by Tuesday, Dec. 3, Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer said on Friday, Nov. 29.
Ferrer said he expects Board Member Rommel Debulgado, SP Committee on Finance chair, to submit his report on the budget hearings for approval next week.
The proposed 2025 budget is P1,022,895,094 or 18.82 percent higher than the P5,434,644,700 budget for 2024.
The proposed budget sets P6,203,085,130 for the General Fund and P254,454,664 for the Economic Enterprise Development Department, a special account under the General Fund.
Meanwhile, no supplemental budget for the expected additional benefits of the provincial government employees has been submitted to the SP for approval, Ferrer said.
The supplemental budget is usually submitted in the second week of December, he said.*
